About Faces of Bismarck

I first heard about the “Faces of” concept in 2016 from a publisher out of Omaha, NE. They had created a magazine that promoted local businesses by featuring a “Face” of a specific business type (for example, the “Face of Architecture”). The publication helped connect Omaha community members with local businesses, and after talking with other publishers, I learned the concept had been met with equally great feedback in their markets, too.

As someone who’s passionate about celebrating and connecting communities, I loved the idea immediately. In 2021, we decided to bring the “Faces of” concept to the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo and Bismarck-Mandan communities. In 2022, we expanded the publication to Sioux Falls, and since then, we’ve continued to produce “Faces of” magazines in each of these regions every year. We even added a Faces of Greater Grand Forks earlier this year!

That same enthusiasm has brought us back once again—this time with the newest edition of Faces of Bismarck–Mandan.

We hope you enjoy this publication and take the opportunity to get to know some of the people shaping the Bismarck–Mandan business community.

Over the past 16 years, we’ve created more than 600 magazines—all focused on telling positive, community-driven stories. “Faces of Bismarck–Mandan” is another piece of that mission, and we believe you’ll enjoy reading about the people and businesses that make this region special.

This publication is considered a “native advertising piece” in the publishing industry. That means each “Face of” feature is a sponsored page, paid for by the advertiser. However, this isn’t a “Best Of” issue—it’s a showcase of the individuals and organizations that help our communities grow. By sharing their stories, we’re connecting readers with local businesses they may not have known about before.

Because it’s a sponsored publication, we’re able to produce it at a high quality and distribute 21,500 copies free to the public. Our sales and editorial teams worked hard to connect with credible, community-minded businesses across each category. Our goal is to help you learn more about the people behind the businesses that make Bismarck–Mandan thrive—and to encourage everyone to continue supporting local.
