Camp of the Cross Ministries, located on Lake Sakakawea near Garrison, ND, has been serving the community for 70 years.
Established in the 1950s during the creation of the Garrison Dam, the camp’s mission is “Camping with Christ… for lives of faith.” Offering year-round programming, including youth camps, men’s and women’s retreats, and crafting getaways, the camp provides a space to connect with faith and nature. Activities like hiking, canoeing, and kayaking bring participants closer to God’s creation, while worship and service opportunities foster a deeper sense of community.
The camp is supported by over 70 congregations in western North Dakota and continues to uphold its core values of hospitality, service, and Christ-centered ministry. Whether through summer camp or off-season retreats, Camp of the Cross offers a place to reflect, grow, and return to daily life with renewed faith.
